Oliver Napoleon Hill was born on October 26, 1883, in a one-room cabin in Wise County, Virginia. His early life was marked by hardship, particularly after the death of his mother, which led his stepmother to encourage him to pursue education and writing. Hill’s career took a pivotal turn in 1908 when he interviewed the industrial magnate Andrew Carnegie, who challenged him to study the principles of success and achievement. This challenge set Hill on a path to become one of the most influential figures in the self-help genre.
Hill is best known for his motivational classics, The Law of Success and Think and Grow Rich, the latter being one of the best-selling self-help books of all time. Throughout his life, he wrote extensively on the principles of success, teaching and lecturing on topics that inspired countless individuals. He passed away in November 1970, leaving behind a legacy that continues through the Napoleon Hill Foundation, which promotes his teachings and philosophies.
