Our Book Care Policy
To keep our library thriving for everyone, we ask for a one-time security deposit of KES 2,000 when you join. Think of it as a safety net for our shared books. It’s fully refundable when you decide to end your membership, as long as all your borrowed books come back home safe and sound (no major damage or losses). It helps us keep the collection in great shape for you!
Membership FAQs
Is there a limit to how many books I can read per month?
Not at all! Read as many books as you want. Your only limit is how many books you can have at once (1-2 depending on your tier), but as soon as you return one, request another. Voracious readers are our favorite kind.
What if I'm a slow reader? Will I waste my subscription?
Absolutely not! There’s no pressure or deadline to finish books quickly. Keep books as long as you need—your membership is about enjoying reading at your pace, not rushing through it.
Do I have to commit to a long contract?
Nope! You can choose month-to-month membership. Cancel anytime with no penalties or awkward questions. Stay as long as you’re loving it, leave whenever you want.
What happens if a book gets slightly damaged while I have it?
Life happens—we get it. Minor wear is totally normal. You’ll only see a small points adjustment for significant damage. Plus, we document condition when books are lend out and returned, so you’re never blamed for pre-existing wear. For more information see Terms of Use.
Can I request books that aren't in your current catalog?
Yes! That’s one of the perks of Waisa Points. Accumulate points and use them to request specific titles. If it’s in print and available, we’ll stock it for you.
Are shipping costs included?
Shipping fees vary by location and are separate from membership. However, you can use Waisa Points to cover shipping costs, or even earn free shipping through promotions and milestones.
What types of books do you stock?
We focus on premium paperbacks and hard covers across all genres—fiction, non-fiction, self-help, business, classics, contemporary, etc.. If it’s a quality book people want to read, we want to stock it.
